Timekeeping

The Timekeeping area of Payroll is responsible for:

  • The maintenance of vacation and sick leave usage for the biweekly, non-exempt staff and the monthly, exempt staff.
  • These activities for staff in leave accrual plans: monitoring appointment activity; adjusting sick time for seasonal leaves; monitoring half-salary sick reporting; monitoring maximum vacation accrual; and adjusting accruals for excessive unpaid hours.
  • The preparation of extended sick leave usage reports.
  • The preparation of inter-unit transfers for staff transferring between timekeeping units.
  • The preparation of Payroll Deduction Notices for time-off without pay or excessive usage of sick/vacation time.
  • Vacation accrual liability information for the University's financial report.
  • Determination of Leave of Absence dates and processing of vacation pay off authorizations for terminating staff.
