Central Printing of Gross Pay Registers Ends Sept. 2009

The University Payroll Office will no longer print and mail Gross Pay Registers (GPRs) after September 2009. The last paydates for central printing of GPRs are:

  • Biweekly - 9/25/2009
  • Monthly - 9/30/2009
  • Weekly Off-Cycle - 9/28/2009

Supporting a Greener Campus
There are many alternatives to centrally printed GPRs that departments can use online to create electronic or printed GPRs. You can help save energy, resources, and costs associated with large-scale printing and mailing when electronic files are used in the Payroll Controls process.

The online alternatives to centrally printed GPRs are:

1. Department-Specific GPR in HEODS
In HEODS, you can run a specific portion of the GPR by DeptID, Project/Grant, or EmplID.

  • Access: The PY Gross Pay Register User role provides specific access to staff who only need GPR data. This access is also provided as part of the HR Appt Viewer, HR Total Appointment View User, and TL Time Entry Users roles.
  • Support Document: Gross Pay Register - Support Material in My LINC.

2. Payroll Data Set GPRs in BusinessObjects
UM-Maintained GPR reports by Project / Grant or Fund, Department, and Program are available in BusinessObjects.

3. Public Queries in HEPROD and HEODS
Three public queries provide GPR data by Fund, Department, and Program. They can be run by Dept ID, EmplID, or Static Group ID, as indicated at the end of the query names: MTL_GROSS_PAY_BY_DEPT , MTL_GROSS_PAY_BY_EMPL, and MTL_GROSS_PAY_BY_GROUP.

4. eReconciliation
If you use GPRs as part of your Statement of Activity (SOA) reconciliation process, you may want to consider using eReconciliation. See the Real Time Financials web page for more information.

5. Complete GPR in M-Pathways Report Manager
You can obtain complete GPR reports and print specific pages from a Report Manager folder in HEPROD after each payroll.

  • Access: The PY Gross Pay Register User role provides specific access to staff who only need GPR data. This access is also provided as part of the HR Appt Viewer, HR Total Appointment View User, and TL Time Entry Users roles.
  • Support Document: Gross Pay Register - Support Material in My LINC
