Identity Theft Prevention Program

The Identity Theft Prevention Program was developed pursuant to the Federal Trade Commission’s Red Flag Rules promulgated as part of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.

Credit Bureau Reporting

The status of all student loans are reported monthly to the national credit bureaus from the time of disbursement.

Office Closing at Noon

Student Loan Collections will close at noon on 8/14/08 for their annual picnic. The office will reopen 8/15/08 at 8:00 a.m.

Cancellation of Debts Due to Total and Permanent Disability or Death

In the event that the borrower becomes totally and permanently disabled they, or their representative, should contact Student Loan Collections to discuss the procedure to cancel their debt(s).

In the event of the borrower's death Student Loan Collections requires an original death certificate in order to cancel all debts held by the department.
